Hi i have a evo II with an external wastegate that i need help with piping up.

I know the purpose and operation of a external wastegate but i cannot find the port on the turbo's compresser housing that goes from the turbo to the wastegate. The turbo is a td05h 49178-01 (40)0, a standard evo II turbo i believe, if that helps. I dont have the internal wastegate as it was taken off so i dont know where to pipe the new external one up to. Can u pipe it up somewhere around the intake pipe instead?

Any help would be apreciated.

Thanks

hey thanks for looking im considering an Evo, but first i wanna know some things about the car, im not really looking for big power. i really like the MazdaSpeed 6's i know those arnt all that quick but like those cause they're rare. also have been reading up on the WRX/STi's but as for the Evos whats some known issues, common problems stuff like that. are maintenance parts expensive? what kinda numbers can you expect from a lightly modded BPU one (intake exhaust boost increase...etc) thanks

hey thanks for looking im considering an Evo, but first i wanna know some things about the car, im not really looking for big power. i really like the MazdaSpeed 6's i know those arnt all that quick but like those cause they're rare. also have been reading up on the WRX/STi's but as for the Evos whats some known issues, common problems stuff like that. are maintenance parts expensive? what kinda numbers can you expect from a lightly modded BPU one (intake exhaust boost increase...etc) thanks

hi i am new to the forum. i dont have a mitsubishi, but i hope to one day be able to buy a blue evo 9. I have a 2003 Mustang GT. Tried to sell it for an evo about 4 years ago, but wasnt able to so I decided to modify the stang instead. Put nitrous on it and was fun, but refilling bottles all the time and playing with bottle pressure got old. Then I put a vortech supercharger on it and made 430whp, but power came on too late for me. So eventually was able to put a Hellion turbo kit on it. The motor blew shortly after, so I tore it apart, ported the stock heads, had them rebuilt, and assembled a fresh shortblock with all fully forged parts and arp hardware. The turbo kit came with a Turbonetics 62mm turbo, which is kind of small but was able to get it on the dyno and made 530whp/630wtq at 10.9psi with a conservative street tune. I am hoping to upgrade to a 76mm and make some more power soon.
